Laurie Stolmaker, MA is a licensed marriage and family therapist (MFT) and holds Masters Degrees in Counseling and Special Education. Laurie has had a private practice in Santa Rosa,Ca since 1995. She sees individual teens and adults as well as couples. Laurie and her husband, Neil, have raised two sons together using Positive Discipline’s firm and kind principles.

Career Experience
I have been in the “helping professions” since I became a tutor in the sixth grade. I taught kindergarten, special education and adults in many settings over the years. In 1987, as a young mother, I began to study parent education and psychotherapy as a career path. I am naturally drawn to exploring and understanding how we humans work, what drives our behaviors, how we connect with one another and other living things. I love to say that “I work with people who are perfectly exhausted from trying to be perfect.”.
