ADHD: Your Child Can Recover
and Thrive

Remove the Root Causes Underlying Your Child’s ADHD and Behavior Struggles

You’re stretched thin, exhausted and worst of all you’re losing hope.

Parenting a child with ADD or ADHD is extremely demanding, especially since many ADHD kids have additional challenges.

It’s common for them to also have anxiety, depression, learning disabilities, sleep problems, allergies, explosive anger and other physical issues and behavior problems.

No matter what you try or how many doctors you’ve seen, the only solutions given are medication or behavior modification, and you’re left to manage the complicated daily challenges the best you can.

It’s a lot to juggle to keep your child on track and out of trouble.

Overwhelmed and tired has become your new normal.

This is not at all what you pictured for yourself as a parent.

But it doesn’t have to be this way…

Imagine the behaviors and challenges that are troubling your child as the tip of an iceberg. Most of that big chunk of ice lies below the water. What lies beneath your child’s behavior? What if you could discover the underlying physical, neurological, and emotional causes and triggers that are unique to your child’s struggles – and remove them?

Mark Hyman MD, the director of Cleveland Clinic’s Center for Functional Medicine, outlines a case study of Clayton, one of his patients who was diagnosed with ADHD, anxiety, insomnia, asthma, allergies, stomach problems, headaches and many other physical symptoms. Clayton was on seven different medications prescribed by five doctors. His mom brought him to Dr. Hyman in a complete state of distress.

After finding the causes of the irritation to his system and identifying the missing ingredients needed to restore normal function, Clayton’s health and brain could finally start to normalize. After two months, he was off all medications and was free from all his chronic symptoms.  His mood and behavior returned to that of a typical 12-year-old. His attention issues, disruptiveness, irritability and anxiety all vanished completely.

Here’s the great news…

You don’t have to wait 20 years for your doctor to catch up with what cutting edge science is already telling us about how physical imbalances affect brain chemistry. In fact, getting the body back into balance can repair disordered brain function.

When you understand the underlying causes and have a clear roadmap of how to help your child, it will be a complete game changer for you. You will profoundly shift your view of your child. You will go from thinking of your child as disruptive, defiant, disrespectful, and manipulative to a deep understanding of what makes him behave the way he does.

It doesn’t matter how much you try to control her behavior and attention, or how much you talk, punish, reward or give her timers, charts, checklists, or schedules. None of it will truly make an impact until you deal with the underlying physiological imbalances. Until you address them, your child’s brain will not be able to function in the way it needs to, and unfortunately things will get worse since your child’s symptoms are a clear sign that something is very wrong.

Would you like your child to thrive?

What if you could take a deep dive into the root causes and understand what’s really happening with your child – and have a clear pathway to recovery? It will change everything.

My Commitment to You

I’m Jane Sheppard CPC FMCHC, and I’ve had the joy of teaching parents about health and healing for children for over 25 years.

After witnessing a horrific tragedy of a close friend whose son was medicated for ADHD, anxiety, and depression, I became determined to do everything I can to help other parents dealing with these issues.

Problem child and desperate mother

As a parenting coach and a functional medicine certified health coach, I will guide you in dealing with the unique and specific underlying issues that are causing ADHD, serious behavior issues, anxiety, depression, allergies and other chronic health issues in your child.

What is Functional Medicine?

Functional medicine is a science-based model of holistic health care that addresses the root causes of disease. It treats the whole person, not just the symptoms. Functional medicine is practiced by MD physicians, naturopathic physicians, nurse practitioners and other licensed practitioners.

As a functional medicine certified health coach as well as a parenting coach, I will guide you in helping your child to achieve optimum health using functional medicine principles, bio-individual nutrition, mind-body medicine, and positive psychology coaching. I will help you reduce the overwhelm and confusion and take small steps at home that will make a huge difference. I will help you move through your worst challenges with your child.

If you want to work with a functional medicine doctor, I can help you find one who can work with your child. Or I can help you work with your child’s existing doctor.

Everyone’s physiology and brain are different. I will guide you in an individualized and personalized approach that will lead you on a path to recovery for your child, which of course will affect your whole family.

These are some of the issues we can explore together. I can help you simplify and find a path that fits easily into your life – one step at a time.

  • Gut microbiome dysbiosis and gastrointestinal disorders
  • Neurotransmitter imbalances
  • Metal and chemical toxicity
  • Impaired detoxification
  • Nutritional deficiencies and imbalances
  • Allergies and immune dysfunction
  • Food reactions and sensitivities

I can support and help you to:

  • Respond to your child’s behavior in a way that will improve your relationship rather than harm it
  • Create a connection with your child even during his or her worst tantrums
  • Communicate and set limits with your child so that he or she will listen and want to cooperate with you
  • Support your easily frustrated or explosive child during an outburst so that you both come away feeling better
  • Repair your relationship when things get out of control
  • Learn quick and easy self-care practices so that you are able to parent from your best self
  • Help your child to grow up with lasting motivation, self-confidence, and self love

It’s time for you to give yourself and your child a huge amount of compassion and finally let yourself off the hook. You are doing the best you can with the information you have been given. Now you can finally have a clear roadmap of how to help your child.

Seeing your child healthy, happy and thriving physically, socially, emotionally and academically is everything! You will finally have the easy parenting experience you always wanted – actually enjoying and having fun with your kids!
