GOTS Certified Organic and Non-Toxic

2_1-gots All Naturepedic mattresses are certified organic and non-toxic to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) – the world’s leading standard for organic mattresses. All Naturepedic mattresses are certified in their entirety, meaning both the finished product AND all the individual materials within the mattress are GOTS certified.

GOTS is a difficult certification to achieve, since it requires rigorous documentation and onsite inspections. For a mattress to be certified by GOTS, all fiber and fabrics, with limited exceptions, must be made from National Organic Program (NOP) certified materials and processed in accordance with strict standards created by GOTS. All other components (such as innersprings, fire protection, etc.) must meet stringent non-toxic standards. In addition, GOTS certified products meet criteria for social justice and environmental stewardship.

Global Organic Latex Standard (GOLS)

2_2-gols All the latex that Naturepedic uses is GOLS certified organic. GOLS is a materials and processing standard for organic latex and finished latex foam. In addition to the use of organic raw material, this standard also concentrates on aspects such as human health, safety and welfare, as well as the environment in the manufacturing process of organic latex products.

MADE SAFE Certified

MADE SAFE means a product has been made with ingredients not known or suspected to cause human health harm.

Certified products are made without known behavioral toxins, carcinogens, developmental toxins, endocrine disruptors, fire retardants, GMOs, heavy metals, neurotoxins, pesticides, reproductive toxins, toxic solvents, or harmful VOCs. It then goes above and beyond: Ingredients have been further examined by a chemist for bioaccumulation (builds up in our bodies), persistence (builds up in the environment), and general and aquatic toxicity, making it the leading standard in the country.
